Application Process
- Contact hespclinic@umd.edu for an application packet.
- Fill out an application.
- Return your application to hespclinic@umd.edu.
- Once we receive your application, our administrative office will contact you to schedule a time to visit LEAP.
- After you visit, we will set up an appointment for a diagnostic evaluation in our clinic.
Schedule
LEAP runs Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with morning and afternoon sessions.
Morning session: 8:45am to 12:15pm
Afternoon session: 12:45pm to 4:15pm
Calendar
LEAP operates from mid-September through mid-December (fall session) and late January through mid-May (spring session), approximately 12 weeks per session. A 5 ½ week summer session operates from early June through mid-July.

Discounts are available to members of the UMD community. We also offer an income-based sliding scale. Please inquire for more information.
Eligibility
LEAP serves preschool-aged children with identified speech and/or language disorders. Eligible children demonstrate clinical speech and/or language delays as their primary area of concern in the absence of other major developmental conditions. All children are required to be toilet-trained to be eligible for LEAP.
Wait list
If we do not have any seats available when you apply, you can choose to be added to our waitlist. If an opening becomes available, we will contact families on our waitlist in the order that they applied.
